Chiranjeevi reminisces 44 years in Tollywood
With a fabulous trajectory of a career spanning more than 44 years in the film industry, Chiranjeevi is one of the most prominent names in Tollywood. Chiru has an ardent fan following, and has always managed to clutch onto the hearts and minds of many with his memoir of characters.
Chiranjeevi’s debut film ‘Pranam Khareedu’ has turned 44 today, and the star actor took to social media to describe his feelings about the 1978 film, which was written by CS Rao and directed by K Vasu and produced by Kranthi Kumar.
He wrote, ”Chiranjeevi the Actor as you all know was born today, 22 September 1978, 44 years ago! I owe this limitless love and affection I receive from you all to this day! I owe everything to this day! Humbled and Grateful!”

‘Pranam Khareedu’, which was released on September 22, 1978, also starred Rao Gopal Rao, Jayasudha, Chandra Mohan, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Nutan Prasad and Ramaprabha in significant roles. The technical crew comprises B. S. Lokanath and R. Raghunatha Reddy as cinematographers, while K. Chakravarthy was the music composer.
Chiranjeevi, who is more admiringly known as Megastar in the industry, will deliver to the audiences, a diverse set of promising characters on screen with a stellar line-up ahead, in the year 2022. The superstar has a busy year set for him with five big-banner films Mohan Raja’s ‘God Father’, KS Ravindra’s ‘Mega 154’ and Meher Ramesh’s ‘Bhola Shankar’ in the pipeline.
